Young people are facing serious challenges finding work. To build the foundations of strong communities, we need a strong workforce that includes good job opportunities for youth.

We have temporarily changed the Canada Summer Jobs program this year to help employers adapt to the realities of COVID-19, and support young Canadians as they begin to look for summer employment. 

Temporary Changes Include: 

• Given employers the flexibilities to hire youth to work on a full-time or part-time basis, as well as beyond the summer months, with some placements extending to February 2022. 
• 220,000 job placements through Canada Summer Jobs over the program's 2021 and 2022 seasons.
